Conference Venue Location

Choosing a convenient conference or meeting location is an important consideration when planning your next event.  A convenient location is a sure way to increase event attendance and allow your delegate to enjoy the event without worrying about the commute home.

Meet in DCU (Dublin City University) is the ideal location for a conference, meeting or event as we are easily accessible for attendees travelling by bike, car, public transport or flying in from other countries.

Meet In DCU is found on the Dublin City University campus on the north side of Dublin.  Our conference and meeting facilities are in our Glasnevin campus and our St. Patrick’s and All Hallows campus in Drumcondra.  Each of these campuses are within a 2.5 km radius of one another and just a 20 to 30 min walk.  The Drumcondra and Glasnevin suburbs have plenty of restaurants and café’s nearby, making it ideal for attendees to network over a coffee.

Cycling To A Conference

Cycling has become an increasingly popular method of getting to and from work.  It is one of the most sustainable ways to travel around urban areas, and there is also the added benefit of not being stuck in traffic.   Cycling to DCU is a great option for attendees coming from short to medium distances.  Across our three campuses, we have covered and uncovered bike racks to keep your bike safe.  Cycle racks have CCTV surveillance and are monitored by DCU security.  We do also strongly recommend you lock your bike up correctly.

There are also several bike rental companies operating in Dublin, such as Bleeper Bike and Dublin Bikes.  These are ideal for attendees visiting Dublin for a few days and prefer cycling to public transport.

Public Transport

Our three campuses are easily accessible via public transport routes.  There are regular buses to and from the city centre.  There are also Bus Eireann routes that connect DCU to commuter towns such as Naas, Navin and Drogheda.   To find out more about getting to DCU via bus, visit our DCU – How to Get Here page.

Travelling to Dublin by train is easily accessible for most people nationwide.  Dublin Huston and Connally Station are the terminus for commuter trains that arrive from all over the country.  Our St. Patrick’s campus is just a 10-minute walk from Drumcondra train station, which is a 5-minute commute from the city centre.

Irelands Road Network

Dublin City University is located about 10 minutes from Junction 4 on the M50.  All motorways extended from Dublin are connected to the M50.  These motorways are connected to all major cities, such as Belfast, Cork, Limerick, and Galway. As Dublin is the central hub of the Irish road network the easiest place for people to meet, making it the perfect location for attendees travelling by car.

We always recommend carpooling as an option for events and conferences.  It’s an excellent way for delegates to network and reduces the event’s overall carbon footprint.

There is plenty of parking available across all three of our conference locations and can be prepaid using the Apcoa app.

Airport

Dublin Airport is Ireland’s busiest airport, with hundreds of flights arriving and leaving daily from over 190 destinations across Europe, Asia, America, and the Middle East.  Budget airlines such as Ryanair make travelling to Ireland relatively inexpensive.

Our proximity to the airport makes Meet in DCU an ideal venue for international delegates who could be flying in and out of Dublin in one day.  Regular Dublin buses also connect Dublin City University to Dublin Airport.  For those staying longer, we have onsite accommodation available for our conference and event attendees.

Attendee Accommodation

DCU visitor suites are available all year round for conference attendees travelling from further afield.  These one-bedroom and two-bedroom suits have a fully functional kitchen and living room making them ideal for delegates that need a home from home for the duration of the conference.  All rooms are fully serviced and have free Wi-Fi and a workstation.
